The induction of Early Career Teachers has changed. Since September 2021, ECTs commencing induction have been entitled to an Early Career Framework (ECF) based induction. Most schools opt for a fully funded Full Induction Programme, such as the Early Career Teachers' Programme delivered by Exceed Teaching School Hub in partnership with Ambition Institute.

ECTs still need to be registered with an Appropriate Body for the quality assurance of the induction, including termly progress reviews and annual assessment for the first two years. Exceed Teaching School Hub also offers this service.

Induction Coordinators (the senior leader in a school that oversees induction) must also register the ECT with the Department for Education to secure funding for the ECF based induction.
