Provider-led training

Exceed Teaching School Hub delivers the Early Career Teacher programme developed by Ambition Institute. This programme offers a structured two-year professional development journey designed to build teaching expertise through a blend of self-study, coaching, and facilitated sessions.

Programme Components

  1. Three full-day conferences

    • These in-person events provide deep dives into key areas such as how pupils learn, adaptive teaching strategies, and effective implementation.

    • They offer opportunities for ECTs to engage with peers, reflect on practice, and explore evidence-informed teaching methods.

  2. Six 90-minute clinics

    • Held online, these sessions address common teaching challenges aligned with the Early Career Framework (ECF).

    • Each clinic presents practical scenarios and strategies to enhance classroom practice.

  3. Online self-study modules

    • ECTs consistently engage with modules which include readings, videos, quizzes, and reflection tasks.

    • The content is designed to be manageable and directly applicable to classroom settings.

  4. Regular Instructional Coaching

    • Mentors conduct regular coaching sessions, focusing on specific, actionable teaching steps.

    • These sessions involve observation, feedback, and deliberate practice to support continuous improvement.

This comprehensive approach ensures that ECTs receive consistent support and practical tools to develop their teaching practice effectively.

Schools will also receive:

  • Training and support for Induction Tutors.
  • A linked Appropriate Body service should you wish to sign up with Exceed Teaching School Hub as your Appropriate Body provider. Please note you MUST register all ECTs with an Appropriate Body whichever ECF route you take.
  • The use of Ambition Institute's training materials delivered by our trained facilitators.
  • The programme is fully funded for Early Career Teachers and their mentor’s time.
