Part 1 of 4
The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) published a new guidance report on the 27th October 2021: Effective Professional Development.
Recognising that high-quality teaching is pivotal in improving children’s outcomes, the guidance report draws upon reforms such as the Early Career Framework and National Professional Qualifications to exemplify the crucial role of effective professional development in improving classroom practice.
It acknowledges the importance of well-designed professional development that meets needs and that is effectively implemented when schools and teachers invest time and resources to access it.
Whether the teacher is accessing professional development from an external provider, or a school is designing its own programme for its workforce, the guidance report provides useful recommendations.
You can download the guidance report and the supporting documentation here.
In the coming weeks, I will use this newsletter to share the report’s three recommendations with you.
Bradford Teaching School Hub is working with Bradford Research School to provide teachers and leaders with a full briefing on the guidance report via an event in December 2021. We will share more information with you in due course.
Best wishes
Paul
